afwa job shadow program
What you learn in school provides a basis for accounting and finance knowledge, but anyone who has been in the “real world” knows that most of the training is day by day, on the job. For many college students, the only world of accounting you know is what you’ve seen on tests and in books. The AFWA Job Shadow Program hopes to change that.
What is it really like to make a journal entry? What do financial pages mean to management? What kind of day-to-day routine would you have in an accounting position? Will you HATE sitting in a cubicle all day? Do you have to wear a suit to work every day?
What is cost accounting really like? What about financial accounting? What about working with non-profits? What’s it like to work in a non-traditional environment? What can you use your accounting degree for aside from looking at spreadsheets all day?
Take a few hours out of your schedule to spend with one of our AFWA accountants and see first-hand what local Chattanooga businesses are like for accounting and financial professions.
